Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. – notes that certain news articles have been reported regarding the Company’s Deepwater Containment System (DCS).

The Helix DCS provides a solution that centers on three vessels, the Helix Producer I, the Q4000 and the Express, each of which played a role in the Macondo response and are presently operating in the Gulf of Mexico. Although no formal agreements have been executed at this time, the Company is in advanced discussions with an industry group to provide the DCS on a retainer basis.

“We welcome the opportunity to assist the industry with our proven spill containment system,” said Owen Kratz, CEO of Helix. “We are also honored by the positive response from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement to the System as a supplement to the response effort being developed by the Marine Well Containment Company.”

Helix Energy Solutions Group, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is an international offshore energy company that provides development solutions and other key life of field services to the energy market as well as to their own oil and gas business unit.
