CALL FOR PAPERS PUBLISHED FOR PRESTIGIOUS WORLD MARITIME TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
‘Uniting Ideas for a Global Future’ is the highly relevant theme for the fourth World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC 2012). This international event, supported by 25 maritime organisations from all around the world, will be held in Saint Petersburg – the maritime capital of the Russian Federation – where it is set to attract all sectors of the global shipbuilding; marine science, technology and engineering; offshore oil and gas; and marine renewables industries.
WMTC 2012 will be held 29 May – 1 June 2012 at Lenexpo, Saint Petersburg. Hosted by NTOS (Science & Technology Society of Shipbuilders of the Russian Federation – named after A.N. Krylov) and Reed Exhibitions’ Energy and Marine Group, WMTC 2012 will feature a peer-reviewed technical conference, a major exhibition, a visiting vessels programme, social programme and other networking opportunities.
This is the triennial event of the World Maritime Technology Conference, previous WMTC events having been held in San Francisco (2003), London (2006) and Mumbai (2009). The Congress is a collection of the 25 international maritime associations, societies and institutes from around the world who come together to debate the professional and technical issues that affect the marine environment.
“The prestigious WMTC provides a valuable forum for experts from many of the different disciplines that make up the maritime industry to share their progress and achievements with their peers in the maritime field,” explains Event Manager, James Coleman. “As a multi-faceted event it will feature content and exhibits relevant to every industry and discipline that is connected to maritime science, technology, engineering and operations, making it an unmissable event for experts from all these disciplines from around the world.”
The Call for Papers has been published for the conference, which is designed as a world-wide forum for representatives of shipbuilding, marine engineering, and offshore industries to discuss urgent and long-term issues and their maritime vision for the future. The conference will feature streams devoted to ‘Shipbuilding and Shipping’; ‘Naval Engineering’; ‘Offshore Oil and Gas’; ‘Operational Oceanography’; ‘Marine Environment’; ‘Marine Renewables’; ‘Underwater Vehicles’; and ‘Marine Engineering Systems’ – detailed subheadings for all streams are available on the WMTC website. Abstracts (up to 300 words) should be submitted online by 31 May 2011 and authors will be notified of acceptance by 31 August 2011.
