A report from the port of Klaipeda shows a significant rise in the container throughput in the major Eastern Baltic ports. According to the report, St Petersburg handled 1.9 million TEU last year, up by 44 per cent. The next biggest container port is Klaipeda that reached 295,000 TEU, an increase by nearly 19 per cent. After a 39 per cent rise, Riga is the third largest port with 254,000 TEU’s handled last year.
