Bangkok-based Mermaid Maritime has appointed a former UK shipbuilder as its new chief executive officer. Denis Welch, whose career started at UK shipyard Swan Hunter and who was most recently chief executive of Drydocks World in Southeast Asia has been appointed to the top executive post at Mermaid with effect from the middle of this month.
