Vroon announces that yesterday, Thursday 10 February 2011, Vroon took delivery of VOS Venturer.
The VOS Venturer is a field-support vessel, built at the Astilleros Zamakona Shipyard, Pasaia. The vessel is the newest addition to Vroon’s growing fleet of modern vessels providing a range of emergency response and cargo support for the offshore industry.
Prior to being phased into the VOS fleet, the VOS Venturer will visit Guernsey for a familiarisation call with representatives of Deeside (Guernsey) Limited.
VESSEL PARTICULARS
The company was founded by the Vroon family over a century ago in the Port of Breskens, the Netherlands. Initially the company traded in coal, fertilisers and agricultural products. In 1952 the first dry cargo ship was built. From then on the company rapidly developed its shipping activities in many different markets.
Today Vroon is a dynamic and ambitious international shipping company, active in a number of specialised and commodity-type shipping segments. Vroon operates and manages a diverse fleet of about 150 vessels. A large fleet-expansion and newbuilding programme will secure further growth in the years ahead.
The main office is based in Breskens. However, management activities are undertaken by a number of Vroon Management Companies, as well as by affiliated companies and business partners around the world.
