The designers of what is claimed to be the world’s largest cargo ship have said it will be the most energy-efficient vessel ever. Danish shipping firm Maersk this week ordered 10 of the 400m Triple-E craft, each of which, it is claimed, will carry 16 per cent more cargo and produce 20 per cent less carbon dioxide per container than the existing most efficient ship.
