Denmark’s Dong Energy has signalled its intention to build a new offshore wind farm in the German sector of the North Sea with a €1.25 Billion investment. Borkum Riffgrund 1 is set to become Dong’s first offshore wind farm in Germany and will have up to 89 turbines each rated to produce up 3.6 Megawatts from Siemens Wind Power, creating generation capacity up to 320 MW which will be sufficient to supply up to 320,000 homes.
