Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) have taken delivery of a new addition to their offshore fleet.

The VOS Achilles, an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel built at the Fujian Shipyard in China, was delivered today, 25 January 2011, in China.

She is the first in a series of eight “A-types” that will be delivered during the next 18 months. The “A” vessel type is slightly more advanced than the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels that we operate. The “A-type” has a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT) and therefore she has better manoeuvring and station keeping capabilities. She has a DP-1 notation.
