After the enormous success and impact of the FIRST INTERNATIONAL SHIP DESIGN AND NAVAL ENGINEERING CONGRESS and the 2009 COLOMBIAMAR Fair, the heroic city of Cartagena de Indias in Colombia opens its doors once again to host these events organized by the Colombian Defense Ministry, Colombian shipyard COTECMAR, the Almirante Padilla Naval School, the National Association of Colombian Companies (ANDI from the Spanish acronym), the Pan-American Institute of Naval Engineers (IPIN from the Spanish acronym), the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, Proexport, Jane’s and Germanischer Lloyd’s.
From 16th to 18th March 2011, with the participation of countries such as Germany, the United States of America, Mexico, France, Chile and Brazil among 20 countries that will be represented, the Colombian Shipyard COTECMAR offers a constructive space for revealing information regarding research and development in the shipping maritime, river and port sectors, and so establish a foundation for free interchange, contribution and application of knowledge.
Brazil – Guest Country With a view at strengthening commercial and academic ties with Brazil, CIDIN 2011 has invited this country as a special guest. The Colombian and Brazilian Navies are furthering talks to develop an Amazon Ship Patrol project, to be used for control and security on the Amazon River.
