NIDC Spent Over USD 200 Million on Drilling Equipment Modernization (Iran)

More than $200 million have been invested in updating equipments of the drilling sector in past two years, managing director of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Mr. Bahmani announced .

Addressing at a forum titled The Role of New Technologies in Oil and Gas Industry, he said: since establishment in 1979, NIDC not only has increased its drilling machines from 6 to 60 but has taken great leaps forward in improving its drilling equipments and equipping them to the latest technologies of the world.

He went on to say that the company uses the latest know how in drilling in addition to using top drive, mud processing, directional, horizontal and underbalanced drilling, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

“Currently fifteen teams of NIDC experts are involved in offering directional and horizontal drilling services” , he stated.

Referring to the great role of human being resources in oil and gas wells drilling, he noted that before the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, drilling companies’ headquartered in foreign countries and Iranian workforce were deployed in just low levels of drilling operations.

He stated that, now more than four thousand Iranian experts in different technical and engineering divisions of the company are in charge of leading drilling operations.
