Further planning and concept selection work will have to be carried out by Statoil for its Norwegian Dagny and Ermintrude combined project after disappointing results from one of two delineation wells.

After drilling a dry well on the related Dougal prospect in a Hugin formation which only found traces of hydrocarbons while another well on the Dagny Central area hit a 30 metre (98 foot) gas column, Statoil indicated today that these results will be important in choosing a development concept for the two areas.
