Anchor QEA Engineer Receives Key Award from American Society of Civil Engineers

Anchor QEA announced today that Amanda Shellenberger, P.E., is the 2011 recipient of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Private Sector for the Western Region. This award is awarded to engineers 35 years and younger for their professional achievements and participation in ASCE activities.

The ASCE Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award was presented to Ms. Shellenberger in February at the ASCE Western Regional Younger Member Council Annual Meeting. Ms. Shellenberger is the current Seattle Younger Member Forum President-Elect, a Corresponding Member for ASCE’s Committee on Younger Members, and the Secretary for the National Committee on Volunteer Community Service.

Since joining Anchor QEA four years ago, Ms. Shellenberger has served as assistant project manager for the Portland Harbor Superfund Site Feasibility Study and provides technical and strategic support for the Feasibility Study. Ms. Shellenberger represents a multi-party client group, which is working cooperatively with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on approach and implementation of the assessment.
