AGL Resources announced the appointment of Angela M. Nagy as vice president and controller. Nagy will be responsible for the corporate general accounting, financial reporting and retail operations accounting functions of AGL Resources.
“ We are very pleased to have someone with Angela’s expertise and experience in this leadership role ,” said Bryan Seas, Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer .
Nagy brings extensive accounting and energy sector experience to the company. She comes to AGL Resources from Mirant Corporation where she served most recently as vice president and controller. Other roles held at Mirant Corporation included Assistant Controller; director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting; and controller of its energy trading and marketing subsidiary. Prior to that, Nagy spent several years with Arthur Andersen LLP in the Atlanta assurance practice.
In October 2010, Nagy was named byTreasury & Risk magazine as one of corporate America’s outstanding finance executives under the age of 40.
Nagy earned her master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of Accountancy. Nagy also received a bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and is a Certified Public Accountant.
