Dolphin Geophysical has signed a contract with ION’s GX Technology group (GXT) for a three month 2D seismic acquisition survey offshore West Africa. The project will be acquired by Polar Explorer, the Company’s first 2D vessel, with acquisition commencing in April 2011. The contract includes a mobilization fee to West Africa.
Ken Williamson , Sr. VP of ION’s Integrated Seismic Solutions group stated, “ The vessel comes fully equipped with ION’s suite of integrated navigation and seismic acquisition equipment including OrcaTM and DigiStreamerTM, ensuring the success of the program. The completion of this survey will add up to 7500 km of new seismic data to our BasinSPANTM program in West Africa, further exploring the insights gained in Phase 1. ”
