Østensjø has been at the forefront of Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) design and operation since this type of vessels first came into service. From 1978 to present our PSV’s have been continuously employed by Shell, UK to service installations in the central and northern North Sea.

Østensjø was the first company to introduce Dynamic Positioning system on board supply vessels used for conventional cargo operations. This is now standard on all PSVs within the company. The company has also worked closely with Kongsberg Maritime and taken part in the development of several DP reference systems and has by that been one of the first companies to take new technology into use.
