Energinet, Danish national transmission system operator for electricity and natural gas company, has recently signed contract with A2SEA regarding offshore transformers installation.
As part of establishing the Anholt offshore wind farm, Energinet must supply an offshore transformer platform to collect electrical energy from the offshore wind farm, transform it to another voltage level and bring it ashore.

The offshore transformer station is to be installed in the Kattegat south west of the island Anholt during the spring of 2012, at water depth of approximately 17m
About Anholt Offshore Wind Farm:
Anholt Offshore Wind Farm is an approved Danish offshore wind power wind farm in the Kattegat, between Djursland and Anholt island. With a nameplate capacity of 400 megawatts (MW), when built, it will be the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark. A cable from the wind farm to Anholt will permit the replacement of most of the current diesel-powered electricity on the island.
