Petrobras’ domestic and foreign average oil and gas output in March reached 2,613,994 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), up 2.3% on the same period in 2010, and 0.4% higher than the total extracted in February this year.

In Brazil, the Company’s average oil and gas output reached 2,376,186 boed, up 2.9% on March last year. This represents a 1% increase on output for February this year, a result that was due partly to the resumption of production from platforms that were under maintenance, and partly to the Extended Well Test (EWT) started up in the Santos basin’s Sidon field.

Production of oil alone in domestic fields reached a daily average of 2,039,891 barrels in March, up 2.3% on the 1,993,763 barrels/day produced over the same period last year, and up 1% on the February figure.

The daily total in March for gas from Brazilian fields amounted to 53.467 million cubic meters, representing a 6.6% increase on the daily average for the same month in 2010. Natural gas output remained stable by comparison with February this year.
