Qatar: RasGas Opens Its Doors to Engineers of Tomorrow

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) welcomed students from local high schools to showcase the range of opportunities available with a career in engineering.

Ron Gilliland, RasGas Subsurface Group Manager said: “ On behalf of RasGas, I am delighted to host this valuable educational initiative. Education is a catalyst for Qatar in its drive for a sustainable economy, and RasGas has made a long-term commitment to use its expertise in the energy sector to help students launch their long-term careers .”

During their visit, the students viewed an interactive 3D presentation in RasGas’ innovative Visualisation Room, providing them with both an insight into the energy engineering business and practical information on engineering careers. The students also listened to the experiences of RasGas employees and learned more about RasGas’ National Development Programme.

“ At RasGas, we believe that people are the main factor in the company’s development and success. Therefore our National Development Programmes ensure that the young professionals are well armed with knowledge, skills and experience to face any challenges .” Thamer Al Kaabi, RasGas Head of National Development stated.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, RasGas is aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 to promote the development of Qatar though education, especially in scientific fields. RasGas is also committed to the Qatarization programme and careers initiatives play an important role in recruiting and retaining high-quality Qatari staff in permanent positions.
