On April 27, SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev received BP delegation led by Company’s Chief Executive Mr. Robert Dudley.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev stated that Exploration work within the contract on exploration of “Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli”, “Shah Daniz” fields, development and production sharing on the prospective “Shafag-Asiman” block in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is conducted in accordance with the prescribed plan.
Mr. Dudley spoke about successful cooperation between the two companies. During the meeting, the sides discussed preparation work of the second phase of development of “Shah Daniz” field, expected perspectives, transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, cooperation opportunities between SOCAR and BP in the projects carried out in foreign countries. During the meeting, Mr. Abdullayev said that the contract signed between the sides, had already been recommended to be ratified by the Parliament of Azerbaijan. The SOCAR President expressed confidence that the document will be ratified soon.
