The Bureau Veritas Industry Services GmbH is awarded by RWE Innogy GmbH with the contract to supervise production and quality assurance in the production of 48 wind turbines for the offshore wind farm. The contract is worth over 2 million €.
The order covers the continuous monitoring of the production of all 48 future in the offshore wind farm equipment which is used in terms of the following modules and components:
– Assembly of nacelles and hubs
– Monitor the manufacture of electrical assemblies and
– Monitoring of the mechanical and electrical components for the control group.
This is done directly with the German and European manufacturers. Bureau Veritas also supports the RWE Innogy GmbH in the preparation of documentation for quality assurance of the above mentioned industry fields.

RWE Innogy GmbH plans to build offshore wind farm about 30 miles northeast of the island of Helgoland in the North Sea. The 48 wind turbines are to be installed in a water depth of up to 25 meters and have a capacity of 6.15 megawatts of a total 295 megawatts. The first wind power turbines are going to produce electricity in second half of 2012.
Bureau Veritas services in the wind industry extends from wind turbine testing (Commissioning, warranty reports, periodic inspection, condition-based testing, rotor blade testing, video endoscopy) over due diligence and components decrease to manufacturer audit.
