Petrobras’ CEO, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, granted a press conference yesterday (03/05) during the 2011 Offshore Technology Conference, in Houston, United States. Gabrielli was accompanied by the executive manager for Petrobras’ Research Center, Carlos Tadeu Fraga; the executive manager for the Pre-Salt, Jose Formigli; the executive manager for Production Engineering, Solange Guedes; and by the CEO of Petrobras America, Orlando Azevedo.

Gabrielli spoke about the development program for the pre-salt cluster in the Santos and Campos Basins. “ There are good numbers that represent new and important information that can improve the economy and the results we expect with regard to pre-salt production,” he said.

The executives discussed topics such as safety practices in the oil industry, the heated shipbuilding industry in Brazil, and business opportunities in the oil and gas chain in the country. The company’s projects in the United States, in particular the Cascade and Chinook fields, in the Gulf of Mexico, were discussed as well. Gabrielli also announced that the Strategic Plan for 2011-2015 is being finalized.
