Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) Chairman Eric Streitberg has announced that APPEA Chief Executive Belinda Robinson will step down in mid July at the conclusion of her current contract term.
“ After six years as APPEA’s Chief Executive, Belinda has regrettably decided not to renew her contract when it expires in mid 2011 ,” Mr Streitberg said.
“ The APPEA Board has reluctantly accepted Belinda’s decision as she is doing an outstanding job for APPEA. Since she joined APPEA, membership has more than doubled and she has secured strong outcomes in a variety of areas, particularly in having natural gas acknowledged as the fuel of the future .
“ Belinda is a passionate and highly effective advocate for our industry. She is both highly respected and well liked by her staff, the APPEA Board and members and our stakeholders .”
Ms Robinson thanked the APPEA Board for its support and expressed her regret at leaving APPEA.
“ This has been a difficult decision as APPEA has become a second family to me, but the association is in great shape for a new Chief Executive to continue to take APPEA forward .
“ I will continue to enjoy my remaining time with APPEA and will work hard to ensure we make further progress on the policy initiatives we have under way. I am proud of what the organisation has achieved including its contribution to resource and energy policy making.
“ I wish APPEA, its members, its staff, its Board and all of those employed in this wonderful sector every success .”
