Repsol has received the ESR Distintivo recognition for being a Socially Responsible Company, awarded by the business institution Peru 2021, for aspects such as quality of life in the company, business ethics and the link with the community and the environment.
This recognises Repsol’s responsible Management of its operations in the country. The ESR distintivo is a recognition awarded mainly to promote corporate social responsibility in Peru, setting high evaluation standards for the recognition of best practices in companies.
In the first round, 13 companies have been awarded after being evaluated though an exhaustive questionnaire on 120 aspects and more than 400 questions whose answers must be backed up with proof.
Repsol’s commitment
In Peru, Repsol has an extensive social responsibility programme based on dialogue with stakeholders that enables it to be a dynamic player in the social sphere, mainly in areas of education, health, environment and social development. The company participates in more than fifty projects with Local Institutions and Organisations.
Repsol forms part of the most reputed global sustainability indexes such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the Climate Disclosure Leadership, the Climate Performance Leadership and the FTSE 4Good Index. It was recently named a “Gold Class” company according to the 2011 Sustainability Yearbook drawn up by PricewaterhouseCoopers in collaboration with Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), receiving the top scores in criteria such as code of conduct, strategy against climate change, and standards for suppliers.
Perú 2021
Perú 2021 is a non-profit civil association that works to achieve a shared national vision through spreading and promoting corporate responsibility as a business management methodology. In that way, the company becomes an agent of change for achieving sustainable development in Peru.
It represents the World Business Council for Sustainable Development in Peru, a coalition of more than 180 companies committed to social responsibility and sustainable development on a worldwide scale.
