For the first time in the propulsion industry, MJP Waterjets sets a new standard by introducing a five year warranty on its waterjet system.

The company is able to take this bold action thanks to the fact that its designs are made for heavy duty with an excellent record. There are simply very few faults that have to be dealt with after delivery, MJP Waterjets explains.

The design is proven to withstand the most severe operating conditions, including the impact of stones, sand and all kinds of debris found on beaches or in the water.

The reason for this is reported to be choice of material and design. MJP Waterjets says that the carefully designed intake for each vessel and the pump design offers a perfect flow without cavitation or other disturbance leaving no pittings as trace of incorrect flow or cavitation.

The materials used are duplex stainless steel according to Swedish standard SS2377 and SS2324.

The impeller does not usually need to be exchanged, but spare part can be offered by MJP Waterjets if ever needed. In the rare case it needs to be refurbished, e.g. after many years of operating in extremely sandy and muddy waters, it can be taken out for maintenance and repairs.

Further, thanks to design and choice of material, MJP Waterjets neither uses a wear ring in line with the impeller, nor is there an intake grid needed to protect the pump.

MJP Waterjets explains that by using the all stainless steel waterjet and GRP intakes, the ship owner receives the best service life with the lowest Life Cycle Cost including long service intervals for the maintenance schedules.

MJP Waterjets says that this extraordinary action to provide a 5 year warranty has been taken simply because there are so few reported problems.

“We want to make a statement to all customers that our product is superior in strength, that wear and corrosion resistance is the best in the market and that operators can trust and rely on our service and spare parts.” concludes MJP Waterjets MD Hans Andersson .
