UK: KCA DEUTAG Wins Prestigious IADC Safety Award

KCA DEUTAG, the leading international drilling and engineering contractor, was last week recognised in multiple categories at the annual International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) North Sea Chapter Annual Safety Awards Dinner on 13 May 2011.

KCA DEUTAG won the IADC North Sea Chapter Best Performance for Safety Award in the Platforms category and gained the distinction of a Merit Award for Outstanding Safety Performance Over 5 years on the Brage Platform. KCA DEUTAG received further recognition in the area of Semi-submersibles for the Njord rig.

Glenn White, IADC North Sea Chapter Chairman, presented the awards at the sell-out dinner for IADC Member companies, Associate Member companies and their guests. This major event in the offshore industry calendar, was attended by 400 industry professionals.

Gavin Sutherland, Operations Manager at KCA DEUTAG, who accepted the awards on behalf of the company, commented: “Receiving these awards is very gratifying, especially the Merit Award, which reflects the long-term nature of our commitment to working in partnership with clients to attain and maintain a strong safety record. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those within KCAD, especially the dedication of our offshore crews and those beyond our company who have helped us to win these awards.”
