Chinese Wind Energy Information Center, or CWEI, has announced that The Three Gorges First Wind Farm Project Pvt. Ltd has signed an offshore and onshore wind power engineering, procurement and construction, or EPC, contract with China Huashui Development Corporation, or CHHD, and China International Water & Electric Corporation, or CWE, respectively for first wind farm of 49.5MW, located in Jhampir, district Thatta Sindh, Pakistan.

The contractors would supply and install Goldwind wind turbines, the company said. It may be mentioned that the China Three Gorges Corporation signed a MOU for the development 2000MW wind power farms and 300MW solar parks in Pakistan in December 2010 in Islamabad during the visit of the Chinese Premier to Pakistan. Yan Xinde and Wang Jianfeng signed the contracts on behalf of CWE and CHHD.
