BG Norge AS (BG) has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 34/3-3S in the northern part of the North Sea with the West Alpha mobile facility.
The well is part of production licence 373S with BG (45%) as the operator. The other licensees are Idemitsu Petroleum (25%), Wintershall Norge (20%) and RWE Dea Norge (10%).
The well is located 45 kilometres northeast of the Snorre field and 250 kilometres northwest of Bergen.
The well has the following geographical coordinates:
N 61° 47′ 42.496″, E 02° 43′ 04.376″. The water depth at the site is 400 metres.
The activity has an expected duration of 75 days.
