On 29 June, Offshore Energy’s Committee of Recommendation convened in Rotterdam for a diner pensant. The members, among others CEO’s and managing directors of Dockwise, Chevron, Van Oord, Mercon and Tullow Overseas Holding, discussed the ambitions, market position, program and organization of Offshore Energy 2011.

The Committee fully embraces the event and strongly believes that the international allure of Amsterdam is a vital element of Offshore Energy 2011.

Topics discussed during the diner pensant were the international developments in the offshore industry and how these developments could be addressed within the conference program; how to attract more international exhibitors; and how to utilize Offshore Energy’s unique selling points even better.

Event organizer Navingo B.V. aims to develop Offshore Energy in Amsterdam into a leading international two-day offshore event. According to the Committee, the Netherlands is home to a highly innovative offshore industry and both the exhibition and conference of Offshore Energy will provide an excellent opportunity to position the Netherlands as an international offshore country.

The international allure of Amsterdam plays an important role in realizing Navingo’s ambitions. The city is well known around the world and popular among people from for example China and South America. Also, its international airport, located only 20 minutes away from the new venue Amsterdam RAI, makes the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference easily accessible to visitors from around the world. Amsterdam’s historical city center offers a range of touristic attractions; visitors of Offshore Energy can, parallel to the event, enjoy Rembrandt and Vermeer paintings, the canals and Amsterdam city night life.

The combination of an international exhibition, including Dutch offshore multinationals, a conference that offers high-end presentations by the industry’s leaders, and being located in Amsterdam, raises Offshore Energy to a global level, say the members of the Committee.
