Russia: Rosmorport Reveals New Lotsmeister-1 Vessel in Saint Petersburg

On 30th of June 2011 during the Navy show in Saint Petersburg a ceremony of Russian flag raising on leading multifunctional BLV01 Lotsmeister-1 buoy boat. The vessel projected by Marine Engineering Bureau was built by the order of the FSUE “Rosmorport” on the Nizhegorodskiy Teplokhod shipyard.

The buoy boat is meant to install, maintain and uninstall navigational aids on the approaches and in the seaport’s water area. Navigation area includes the Greater port Saint Petersburg (with Neva estuary parts), seaports of Primorsk, Vysotsk, Vyborg, Ust-Luga. The vessel is also able to set booms during oil spill contingencies.

After the leading vessel basis solution workout the construction of BLV01 buoy boats for the needs of other enterprise’s branches is suggested.

FSUE “Rosmorport” plans to construct 11 auxiliary fleet vessels to the amount of 700 million rubles at it’s own expense till the end of 2011. Also, the construction of 6 non-ice class pilot boats for Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Taman, Kaliningrad two buoy boats for Arkhangelsk and Vyborg and two ice class tug-boats for Rostov-upon-Don is planned. Apart from this, the purchase by the enterprise of crew boat for Saint-Petersburg, dredges for Sakhalin and Arkhangelsk and bilge waters mounter for Ust-Luga ecology fleet is planned. Total investments will result in 200 million rubles. The construction at the federal budget expense of 25 MW diesel icebreaker and three 21900 upgraded icebreakers is planned in 2011.
