China: FHEC Completes Dalian Port 300,000t Terminal Upgrade

On June 23, the upgrading of the 300,000 ore terminal at Dalian Port, undertaken by CCCC First Harbour Engineering Company Limited (FHEC), was completed. Located on the southeast coast of Dagushan Peninsular in Dalian, in caisson gravity abutment structure, the terminal is the country’s first of its kind constructed by FHEC.

The project involved deepening basin excavation and reinforcing the caisson foundation based on the original terminal to enable it to berth 400,000t ore carriers. After project completion, the 300,000t ore terminal at Dalian Port will become the country’s second large deepwater terminal berthing 400,000t ore carriers after the one in Dongjiakou, Qingdao. The project is of great importance to giving play to the resource advantage of the local port and promoting regional economic development.
