Recognised as an established forum for senior global LNG executives, The CWC Group announced that the World LNG Summit and Award Gala Dinner will be returning to Rome from 14 – 17 November 2011.

The Summit in Italy will host over 500 of the most senior LNG executives from over 45 countries to discuss key issues from across the entire value chain. As outlined by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in a recent report, “ample supplies, robust emerging markets and uncertainty about nuclear power, all point to a prominent role for gas in [the] global energy mix”. The agency also commented that the increasing gas supply and demand for the natural resource could set off a ‘golden age of gas’, claiming that gas demand could outstrip coal by 2030, and get close to demand for oil by 2035.

Some of the influential speakers attending and contributing to discussions this year include:

Frédéric Barnaud, President and Managing Director of Gazprom Global LNG

Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Managing Director and CEO, RasGas Company Ltd

Laurent Maurel, Senior Vice President – LNG, Total

Ali Khayrandish, President, Iran LNG

Dr David Ige, General Executive Director – Gas and Power, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation

Andrew Walker, Head of LNG Strategy, BG Group

Charif Souki, CEO, Cheniere Energy

David Fuller, Global Head of LNG, RWE Supply & Trading GmbH

Birger Balteskard, Head of Global LNG Trading and Origination, ConocoPhillips

Ric Frasse, Executive Vice President, GS Caltex

Philippe Berterottière, Chairman & CEO, GTT

Marco Arcelli, Executive Vice President Upstream Gas Division, Enel SpA.

Adnan Rajab, Vice President – Marketing and Shipping, Oman LNG

Steven Miles, Partner, Baker Botts LLP

Graham Hartnell, Manager LNG and Gas Consulting, Poten and Partners

Chris Goncalves, Vice President, CRA International

François Rafin, General Manager, Yemen LNG.
