BP Norge AS (BP) has secured consent to use the Skarv FPSO production facility with associated pipeline systems and umbilicals on the Skarv field.
Skarv is located about 35 kilometres southwest of the Norne field in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea. The development is a unitisation of the 6507/5-1 Skarv and 6507/3-3 Idun deposits.
Skarv is developed with a floating production facility (FPSO), with well templates on the seabed. The field is expected to start production in 2011.
The licensees are BP (operator, with an ownership interest of 23.84 per cent), E.ON Ruhrgas Norge AS (28.08 per cent), PGNiG Norway AS (11.92 per cent) and Statoil Petroleum AS (36.16 per cent).
