Iran’s gas production from the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf waters rose by 17 million cubic meters by starting gas draw from six new wells of the giant gas field’s phase 10, managing director of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Mousa Souri said.

He went on to say that gas output from the field would hit 280 million cubic meters up to the end of current Iranian calendar year, March 20 2012, following incremental production from South Pars gas field phases 9 and 10, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

He noted that, South Pars gas field phases 9 and 10 were the first mega project of the shared gas field that both its onshore and offshore sectors were being developed by Iranian manufacturers and contractors.

By development of the South Pars gas field phases 9 and 10, POGC aims to produce 56 million cubic meters of sour gas, to extract 80 thousand barrels of gas condensate plus 400 tons of sulfur each day.

It’s worth mentioning that, annual production of one million tons of ethane as feedstock for petrochemical uses and 1.050 million tons of LPG for export are among the other targets of development of the phases of 9 and 10.
