Arrow Energy officially opened its new Teviot Brook Complex in Moranbah yesterday.
The complex is named after Teviot Brook which begins at Kerlong Range and flows into the Isaac River near Moranbah. A number of small creeks flow into the Teviot which is a water source for local wildlife and traditionally has been used as a rich resource for indigenous people and local farmers.
According to Mac Gordon, Arrow Energy’s Production Manager North , the new Teviot Brook Complex will be an office base for Arrow employees who are working on the company’s operations in the Bowen Basin and Hillsborough regions. This includes Arrow’s current Moranbah Gas Project (MGP) operations and all of its exploration activities.
“ This new facility provides a collaborative area for our various teams to work together and a welcome space for visitors ,” explained Mr Gordon.
“ Naming our new complex after an important local water source is a constant reinforcement of our drive to reduce our environmental footprint and continuously improve our environmental performance ,” he said.
Arrow currently provides approximately 20 per cent of Queensland’s gas needs which is primarily used to generate electricity. As one of Australia’s largest operating coal seam gas (CSG) projects, the MGP has been supplying gas to power both households and industry in Central and North Queensland with a cleaner burning energy since 2004
In addition to meeting Australia’s gas needs, Arrow is expanding its exploration activities across the Bowen Basin and Queensland to deliver a major CSG to LNG (liquefied natural gas) project that will help meet international demand for cleaner energy.
