Nordic LNG/ Skangass have signed an agreement with one of the World’s leading tool steel producers.

Uddeholm has since 1668 been associated with knowledge, innovative spirit and the special quality of Swedish steel. 3000 employees all over the world whereof 900 in the steel mill in Hagfors, manages the legacy to produce top quality tool steel for demanding applications. Today, Uddeholm uses LPG (Propane/ Butane) and oil as fuel in some 30 large furnaces in Hagfors, these will over the coming 2 to 3 years be converted to natural gas from Skangass/ Nordic LNG.

The LNG receiving terminal in Hagfors is under construction and will be ready in the end of 2011. The liquefied gas will be supplied via tank truck from Skangass recently opened terminal in Fredrikstad when natural gas is being introduced in the production process in Hagfors during the summer of 2012.

The estimated yearly demand for natural gas when all furnaces have been converted is some 12 000 tons.
