The last vessel in the newbuilding program for K Line Offshore AS, the PSV KL Barentsfjord, was delivered from building yard STX OSV Brevik on 28th June 2011. In July 2011 KL Barentsfjord was named in Pollen being the inner harbour of Arendal. The naming ceremony at the docks in the middle of the city, gathered 160 invited guests and a whole lot of interested citizens, as the vessel was open for public after the official naming ceremony.

In an atmosphere of beautiful weather and many invited guests the venue turned out to be a great event. The vessel was named by Mrs. Tomoko Shimizu being the wife of the new chairman of K Line Offshore AS Mr. Toshio Shimizu.

After the official ceremony the public was invited onboard the “open ship”.

KL Barentsfjord has a deadweight of 5.172 MT and cargo deck area of 1.100 m2. She is flying a Cyprus flag and after some voyages in the spot marked she entered in the beginning of August 2011 a two years time charter out of Aberdeen for ConocoPhillips UK.
