Norway: Statoil Gets Consent to Use Songa Dee on Gullfaks

Statoil has received consent to use the mobile facility Songa Dee in the northern part of the North Sea on Gullfaks satellites. Statoil has received consent to use the mobile facility Songa Dee in the northern part of the North Sea on Gullfaks satellites. The consent relates to the wells Gullfaks Sør D, E, F, G, L, M; Gullveig K, Rimfaks H, I, J and Skinfaks.

During the consent period, Songa Dee will carry out activities on Gullfaks satellites in connection with drilling new wells and re-using existing wells.

The activities will include permanent plugback of existing wells, as well as drilling, sidetrack drilling and completion of new wells.

Installation of new subsea templates with drilling and completion of new wells could be relevant.

The water depth at the site varies from 133 to 140 metres.

The earliest start-up date is August 2011. The planned duration of the activity is up to six years.
