Grand Port Maritime de Marseille has announced tender for design, construction and operation of a new Combined Multimodal Transport Terminal (CMTT) at the Marseille Port Eastern Basin, located adjunct to the MedEurope Container Terminal, known as ‘Mourepiane’.
The tender is open to all individual operators or consortia having European standards competence to create and operate a combined transport terminal. The CMTT shall operate as a multimodal platform between the national and international Hinterland and the port for generating import/export maritime traffic, as well as the city of Marseille and its surrounding industrial areas, for railroad-shipped continental cargoes, thus replacing the obsolete city rail freight terminal.
