Since early September, the EUROGATE Container Terminal Bremerhaven has been port of call for a second feeder service of the Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL). OOCL is thus expanding its feeder network in Bremerhaven. The new weekly Scan Baltic Express 1 feeder link uses ships with a nominal capacity of around 1,000 TEUs, including the “OOCL St. Petersburg” as well as the “OOCL Finland”. The extended schedule connects the Bremerhaven wharf with St. Petersburg in Russia and Gdynia in Poland.

The EUROGATE Container Terminal in Bremerhaven has featured on the Scan Baltic Express Service 2 rotation schedule since February of this year. The intra-European service connects Bremerhaven with Kotka, Rauma (both in Finland), Gaevle (Sweden), Klaipeda (Lithuania) and St. Petersburg (Russia). This reorganised schedule is OOCL’s response to the demand in the Baltic region and at the same time once again under-scores the relevance of Bremerhaven as a major hub for international container freight services. Since February 2011, Bremerhaven has been included as a port of call in the “Loop C” Europe – Far East service of the Grand Alliance (Hapag Lloyd, NYK, OOCL) shipping consortium.

About EUROGATE:

EUROGATE is the leading container terminal logistics Group in Europe. Jointly with Contship Italia, the network operates nine container terminals from the North Sea coast to the Mediterranean area. Two new sea terminals in Wilhelmshaven and Ust-Luga (Russia) are currently under construction. The range of services is rounded off by intermodal transport and cargomodal services. EUROGATE was established in 1999, and handled 12.6 million TEU in 2010.
