Bergen Group Hanøytangen is awarded contract for a yard stay for the accommodation rig Safe Scandinavia in October this year. The length of the dock stay is one about one week, and the contract value for Bergen Group Hanøytangen is estimated to NOK 8-10 million. Safe Scandinavia, which is operated by Prosafe Offshore Limited (Prosafe), will during the yard stay be mobilized for a new assignment in the winter months, and there will also be carried out inspections and some modifications.

Safe Scandinavia will be the third rig project carried out at Bergen Group Hanøytangen in Q2 and Q3 this year. The project on Deepsea Atlantic was completed earlier in September, and the yard is currently carrying out project on Transocean Winner, which will be completed in October.

Safe Scandinavia, previously named PolyCrown, was built in 1984 at the Aker Verdal yard to an Aker H-3.2E design. The rig has been operating many fields, starting out on Statfjord in the period of 1984 to 2000. The floating accommodation rig was the first floating accommodation unit to be awarded Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority.
