Statoil Reports Missing Person at Visund Installation (Norway)

A person has been reported missing after not showing up for work this morning at the Visund installation. The installation is in the North Sea and is operated by Statoil. A search of the installation started at once. The search has now been extended to the sea. Helicoptres and vessels are conducting

A person has been reported missing after not showing up for work this morning at the Visund installation. The installation is in the North Sea and is operated by Statoil. A search of the installation started at once.

The search has now been extended to the sea. Helicoptres and vessels are conducting the search.

The missing person is a contractor employee.

“ We’re now doing all we can to find this person ,” reports Hans Jakob Hegge, senior operations vice president on the Norwegian continental shelf.

“Our emergency response organisation is assising the Joint Resque Coordination Centres”.

More information will be supplied as and when it becomes available.
