Decmil Group Limited (“DGL”) today announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, Decmil Australia Pty Limited, has been awarded a circa A$70M million contract to design, supply and install the Fly Camp for the $29 billion Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG Project.
The Wheatstone Project will have an onshore LNG plant located approximately 12 kilometres south of Onslow on Western Australia’s Pilbara coast. Its foundation phase will consist of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tons per annum (MTPA) and a domestic gas plant. It is scheduled to start production in 2016.
Work on this contract is currently scheduled to start in December 2011 for expected completion in August 2012.
The scope of works under the contract includes the design, supply and installation of a 502-room Fly Camp, along with central facilities buildings including kitchen/diner and offices, installation of all necessary utilities and a waste water treatment plant.
Decmil Group CEO Scott Criddle said “the award of the Fly Camp contract is an important achievement for Decmil as it means early involvement in what will be a very significant project for the Australian oil & gas sector.”
“Decmil has a business development model which is based on working with clients from the early accommodation stage and ensuring we are well positioned to be awarded flow-on civil and non-process building contracts” Mr Criddle said.
The Wheatstone contract lifts DGL’s order book to over $300M and the company has $800M in tenders submitted for Oil & Gas and Resources contracts which it expects to know the outcome of before the end of December 2011.
