QGC has awarded an $A17 million contract to Terrex Seismic.
Under the contract, Terrex will provide seismic data across numerous QGC tenements in the Surat and Bowen Basins until December 2012.
Seismic surveys are widely used around the world to produce detailed computer-generated geological images through the use of sound waves.
Information from the testing can be used to accurately plan the location of natural gas wells, thereby keeping land disturbance to a minimum.
