The Ferguson Group, specialists in the rental of containers, accommodation modules and engineering modules to the offshore energy industry around the world through its divisions Ferguson Modular, Ferguson Seacabs and IceBlue, is expanding its business in Norway, the company announced this week at Offshore Technology Days (OTD) in Stavanger (Stand 2911, Hall B).
Ferguson Norge AS, the Norwegian arm of the Ferguson Group, moved to a larger yard complex in August and is looking forward to its new purpose built offices due to be completed in early Spring 2012. The expansion into a new yard and office complex will provide a solid foundation to support further growth as Ferguson Norge expands the range of units it offers. The current container range will be increased to include additional accommodation modules, workspace modules and specialist refrigeration units, all of which are DNV 2.7-1 certified.
Morten Smith, General Manager of Ferguson Norge , said: “We have had excellent and consistent feedback from our existing customers in Norway that we provide high-quality equipment and services, with quick supply and turnaround. We hope to build on that in future as we develop our extensive container fleet and expand the fleet of DNV 2.7-1 & NORSOK Z-015 certified engineering modules we provide, in addition to the specialist refrigeration units through IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore and the addition of new accommodation and workspace modules from Ferguson Modular.’’
Ferguson Norge’s new purpose-built complex is located at Risavika Havn, in the heart of major oil & gas operations. The 10,000m2 plot comprises a new two-storey office building, a workshop and a larger yard with space to stock a greater number of units. To support the move and ongoing growth, a new financial manager has been appointed with further technicians and office staff to be recruited throughout 2012 to meet market demand.
Mr Smith added: “We have created a totally fit-for-purpose Norwegian HQ right in the centre of the Norwegian oil & gas industry with many of the big players as our neighbours. The extra space gives us the scope to introduce a greater range of products to the market. It also gives us plenty of capacity to continue to grow in future.’’
The Ferguson Group employs more than 155 people worldwide through its Ferguson Modular, Ferguson Seacabs and IceBlue divisions serving the offshore container rental and accommodation modules markets. The Group, based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, has operations in all major global oil and gas locations.
