Holman Fenwick Willan announced the recruitment of Susan Farmer, who joins the firm’s London office as a partner in the firm’s Corporate, Projects & Finance practice.
Susan represents clients in the energy, natural resources and electric power sectors in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of oil and gas and other natural resource project transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, as well as advising on the regulatory aspects of such transactions. In addition to many years of experience advising clients on a wide range of international upstream oil and gas and power generation matters, in the past decade Susan has advised clients involved in all segments of the international LNG market, including upstream feed gas suppliers, liquefaction and import terminal project developers, LNG sellers, LNG buyers, LNG ship owners, operators and charterers and regasified LNG off-takers in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the US. She has also advised on joint venture and shareholder agreements, LNG sales and purchase agreements, LNG ship charter and transportation agreements and LNG import terminal use agreements.
This recruitment comes after other recent high profile hires in the energy sector for the firm, namely Robert Follie as a partner in HFW’s Paris office, Robert Desmond as a partner in the firm’s Melbourne office, and Christine Ferguson as a Special Counsel in Sydney. HFW also recently moved energy partner Guy Hardaker to its Singapore office, to support the development of the practice in South-East Asia. In addition, HFW opened its thirteenth global office recently in Perth, in response to its growing energy business there.

Susan joins the firm from US energy specialist, Fulbright & Jaworski, where she was a partner in their London office.
