RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) has once again reiterated its commitment to environmental protection by providing year-long sponsorship to an eco-friendly Recycling Programme initiated by the Doha English Speaking School (DESS).

By supporting the project during the last one year, RasGas provided financial aid for the purchase of recycling bins for aluminium and plastic wastes and honoured the winners of the school’s recycling poster competition, organised as part of the environmental programme.

On October 13 th RasGas employees shared their skills and expertise with 400 primary students aged between 6 to 11 years. The students were treated to a presentation by RasGas on the importance of recycling.

“ We were delighted to support a programme that creates environmental awareness among the young generation, as the children will be able to take this message to their homes and that will pave way for a more sustainable world, ” said Brett Doherty, Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) and Quality Group Manager at RasGas.

“ Children are the best ambassadors for social habits supporting change. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme supports environment and community cornerstones ,” he said.

Expressing the delight in launching the new initiative at the school, Andy Yeoman, Head Teacher of DESS said: “ It is important that we teach our children the importance of recycling, and we believe strongly in starting this service in the school as an important step towards encouraging our children to respect the environment at an early age .”

RasGas is a leader in environmental protection and through its successful CSR has a world class reputation for providing safe and socially responsible working and environmental practices as one of the company’s main core values.
