During 2012 the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) is planning to acquire 2D seismic data from the Norwegian Continental Shelf North of 64 degrees North.
The scope of the mapping is planned to be 10,000-19,000 line kilometres. Due to a tight timescale preference will be given to tenderers who can tender for seismic processing on board the vessel or rapid processing onshore. Suppliers must point out, in their tender, whether they offer to operate 2D vessels in parallell. However, this will not have any direct impact on the evaluation. The NPD is free to choose one or two vessels in parallell, as well as one or two suppliers.
Deadline date for the submission of requests for documents is November 21, 2011. The tender closes November 25, 2011.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (Norwegian: Oljedirektoratet) or OD is a Norwegian government agency responsible for the regulation of the petroleum resources on the Norwegian continental shelf. Based in Stavanger it is to ensure that the petroleum resources are allocated in an optimal at the same time as they incur minimal environmental impact. It is subordinate the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
The agency was created by Storting on July 14, 1972 with the responsibility of managing the petroleum resources. It was originally part of the Ministry of Industry, but became part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy when it was created in 1978. From January 1, 2004 the division related to labour and safety issues was made a separate agency, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway, that became part of the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion.
