HE Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, hosted Nigerian Minister of Transport, HE Senator Idris Umar, on a tour of DP World’s flagship Jebel Ali port.

The two sides discussed areas of possible mutual cooperation, especially in the trade and the ports sectors during a visit by the Nigerian Minister and his accompanying delegation to DP World’s Head Office in Jebel Ali.

HE Idris Umar and his accompanying delegation toured the Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone and expressed interest in the port’s technology-driven operations management and container handling facilities. They were also briefed on DP World, UAE Region’s plans to expand Jebel Ali Port’s capacity by 1 million TEU to 15 million TEU.

HE Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World , said:

“We are pleased to welcome the Honourable Nigerian Minister of Transport, His Excellency Idris Umar, and his delegation to the DP World Head Office here in Dubai. Nigeria is one of the leading economies of Africa with immense maritime and trade potential.”
