In September, Petrobras’ oil and natural gas output in Brazil and abroad was 2,591,624 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), up 2.43% year-on-year, and 1.41% higher than the August figure.
Fields in Brazil alone achieved average oil and gas output of 2,353,057 boed, 3.1% up on September 2010 and 1.3% up on August 2011. Domestic output was boosted by new wells coming on-stream on the P-25 (Albacora), P-57 (Jubarte) and P-56 (Marlim) platforms (Campos Basin), resumption of the extended well test (EWT) on 1-ESS-103 (Jubarte) in the Espírito Santo cluster of the Campos Basin, and resumption of production on platforms P-20 and P-35 (Marlim) after a period of maintenance.
Taking oil alone, production in domestic fields was 2,002,237 barrels per day, 3% up on September 2010 and 2% up on August this year.
Natural gas output in domestic fields was 56,776,000 cubic meters per day in September, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
The volume of oil and natural gas lifted from the Petrobras fields abroad closed September at 238,567 boed, up 2.2% on the previous month. This is the outcome of a return to normal operation at reservoir D, in the Akpo (Nigeria).
Natural gas production abroad was 16.805 million cubic meters, 5.1% up on September 2010. This striking increase was due to increased demand for Bolivian gas and increased output in the Argentinean fields.
The September figure for non-domestic oil output alone was 5.7% up on the August figure.
