Höegh Singapore was successfully named in a traditional and spectacular naming ceremony at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries in Xiamen, China on 12th October 2011

Mrs. Nancy Jean DeMuro (wife of Mr Richard DeMuro, Director MP & L Ford Asia, Pacific & Africa) acted as Lady Sponsor. Other guests included the Norwegian Ambassador to China, Representatives from DNV, the shipyard and site team. In addition, Representativefs from HA management, HFS, HA China and customers in China were also present.

Höegh Autoliners is a leading global provider of Ro/Ro vehicle transportation services. The company operated in 2010 approximately 50 PCTCs (Pure Car and Truck Carriers) in global trade systems which are managed from a worldwide network of 30 offices in four regions. Customers include global manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and rolling goods. In 2010, Höegh Autoliners carried about 1.75 million car equivalent units (ceu) and made almost 3400 port calls.

Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd is located at beautiful Xiamen west sea area, with registered capital of 250 million RMB, and area about 500,000㎡, deep coastline is 1.5kilometer. The company mainly engaged in the production of various kinds of ships, marine petroleum industry equipment, large steel construction and installation, ship repairing, computer software developing and consulting, logistics service and self-supporting import and export. Taking the advice of foreign senior shipbuilding experts, the company has been arranged and designed according to the modern shipbuilding style, the general arrangement fully present the concept of production spatial separation, time in order, integrity of hull, outfitting and painting, logistics smooth, modern equipments.
